Win, lose, or tie, even with the fiercest rivalries, hockey families share a common bond, the love of the game. Hockey families have always come together to support each other in tough times. Sunday’s storms in Central Illinois around the Peoria area have left several hockey families homeless.
The Peoria Youth Hockey Association (PYHA) is asking the hockey community for its support during this difficult time. Please join us in helping the hockey families in our area who lost or had their homes severely damaged. The short term needs are being taken care of by the Red Cross and various support organizations.
The longer term needs are yet to be determined; however, we know with the holidays upon us, there will be additional financial constraints to these families. PYHA is organizing a gift card and fund raising effort. The goal is to help the kids keep playing hockey and return to a somewhat normal routine during this time.
We are asking for gift cards to Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, Wal-Mart, and Target, etc. You may drop off a gift card at Owens Center Ice rink in Peoria or if you would like to make a financial donation you can send a check to:
